Course Description
This course teaches the student the advanced features of the OpenVMS system. Topics include advanced features of the EDIT text editor, the use of libraries, ordering and managing files, advanced techniques used in command procedures, access control lists to enhance system security, the use of logical names and symbols.
Pre-requisites
Students taking this course should be able to use on-line printed documentation, understand the basic hardware and software components.

Advanced DCL functions, the use of lexical functions

Write commands that involve, I/O to a file, error handling, looping, nesting procedures, and subroutines
